The Orland Park Lions Club is holding its annual Haunted Woods from dusk to 11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28 and Saturday, Oct. 29 at 14800 Ravinia Drive. Admission is $12 to $17. Event is not recommended for children less than 6 years old. A children's no-scare Haunted Woods for those 8 years and under will be from 3:30-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29. Admission is $3.
The Worth Park District is presenting its annual "Nightmare at the Terrace" haunted house from 7-11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28 through Sunday, Oct. 30 at the Terrace Center, 11500 Beloit Ave. in Worth. Attendees will weave through 10 rooms filled with night terrors.
The Oak Lawn Park District will hold "Costumes, Pumpkins and Candy, Oh My!" from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28 at Wolfe Wildlife Refuge, 109th Street and Laramie Avenue. The free event will feature pumpkin carving, Jack-o-lanterns, treats and s'mores cooked over a campfire.
The park district will also hold "Halloween DJ Night" from 9-10:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28 at the Oak Lawn Ice Arena, 9320 S. Kenton Ave. in Oak Lawn. Admission is $9, skate rental is $3. All attendees receive a glow necklace. For more information visit olparks.com.
The Frankfort Police Department will hold "Safety Trunk or Treat" from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29 on Breidert Green at Kansas and Oak Streets in downtown Frankfort. A costume parade will step off at 11 a.m. For more information call the police department at 815-469-9435. The Frankfort Historic Business Association will in conjunction hold "Ghosts on the Green" during the same hours.
The New Lenox Chamber of Commerce will present its annual Halloween Fest from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29 at the Village Commons, 1 Veterans Parkway. The event will include trunk-or-treating, pumpkin decorating, an egg hunt, costume contests for children, teens and families, and performances by the Liberty and Martino junior high school bands.
